I use MRC lyrics I dgaf.
"Rhy."
Dande hissed into the dark, trying not to disturb anything. At all.
It has taken all her courage to just get up and get over here, and now she wasn't sure what she'd do if she got any sort of response that wasn't her brother making everything normal.
They had moved back into their childhood home not long ago. Dande barely remembered the place, and she doubted if Rhy did at all. But all her memories had been happy ones.
Now the place gave her the creeps. Their dad had moved them out in the month after their mom vanished, and maybe it was just that the place had stayed all closed up for so long, but even walking in it felt weird. The whole place was wrong.
And that was before the weird stuff happened. Little weird stuff. Stuff you couldn't quite defend when put on the spot. A fork moving an inch when you turned around. A darker clump of shadows.
But tonight?
"Rye?"
Tonight she had woken up with a shadowy shape leaning right over her bed. Right over her.
"Rye!"

"Dande what going on?" He added adjusting his tone to seem a lot less annoyed. She had been having a lot of nightmares lately, she hadn't said anything but he could tell she was off.

It took a few moment for her to calm down her shaking and her pounding
heart to relax enough to talk.
"There was something in my room." She finally stuttered out, curling her fists into a pillow of Rhy's she had kidnapped. Pulling it close to her, she buried her face into the fabric and took another deep, calming breath of her brother's scent. He was her with her. It was, at least right now, all right.

He knew Dande and he knew that something had just scared the living hell out of her. Telling her it was real wasn't going to do anything but make her mad. So he just held her.
"Can I do anything?" He said finally deciding this was an unoffensive option.

It was embarrassing now she wasn't so scared.
Still, this one was too much.
"I saw a ghost." She finally said softly. "Or...I dunno. A thing. In the
dark. Or, it was the dark? It was right over me."
And then she braced herself for his laughing.
